Tirta Gangga, a magical water palace tourism object, was once a water park of the Karangasem Kingdom in eastern Bali.Tirta Gangga tourist attraction is located in Karangasem Regency, Bali.
The name of the Tirta Gangga tourist object comes from Tirta, which means Holy Water, and Gangga, the name of the river in India.
Built in 1946 by the king of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem Agung. The eruption of Gunung Agung destroyed the Tirta Gangga Park complex in 1963. In the years following, the Karangasem district government rebuilt the park, which now stands as a premier tourist destination.
Tirta Gangga Magical Palace is located in the middle of rice fields. The water in this park comes from the Rejasa spring. Rejasa spring has a very large amount of water, clear and soothing. The Rejasa spring supplies one-third of its water to people’s homes in the City of Amlapura (the capital of Karangasem) and fills ponds with the remaining two-thirds, which local farmers use directly for agriculture.
The area of Tirta Gangga Park is 1.2 hectares, extending from east to west. There are three building levels in Tirta Gangga Park. In the highest building, there is a spring under the banyan tree. The second-level building has a swimming pool, and the lowest building has an ornamental pond with a fountain.
Upon entering the Tirta Gangga Park, visitors are immediately greeted by an expansive pool of water, while a towering temple rises to the right. Inside the pool of water, you will see a group of ornamental fish clearly visible at the bottom of the pond. The water in this park is very clear and cool. The surrounding community considers the water in Tirta Gangga Park holy, and local residents use it in their religious ceremonies.
