Taman Tirta Gangga Park Bali

Tirta Gangga tourism object, was once a water park of the Karangasem Kingdom in eastern Bali. Tirta Gangga tourism object is located in Karangasem regency, Bali.

The name of the Tirta Gangga tourist object, comes from the word Tirta which means Holy Water and Gangga which means the name of the river in India.

Built in 1946 by the king of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem Agung. The Tirta Gangga Park complex was previously destroyed by the Gunung Agung eruption in 1963. The Karangasem district government rebuilt this park and is intended for tourist areas.

The location of the Tirta Gangga Park, is in the middle of rice fields. The water in this park comes from the Rejasa spring. Rejasa spring has a very large amount of water, clear and soothing. One third of the Rejasa spring supply is flowed to people’s homes in the City of Amlapura (the capital of Karangasem) and two-thirds are used to fill ponds and the output from pond water is directly used for agriculture.

The area of Tirta Gangga Park is 1.2 hectares, which extends and extends from east to west. There are three levels of buildings in the Tirta Gangga Park. In the highest building there is a spring under the banyan tree. The second level building, there is a swimming pool and the lowest building there is an ornamental pond with a fountain.

When entering the Tirta Gangga Park, the first thing to find was the expanse of a pool of water and there was one temple that towered to the right. Inside the pool of water you will see a group of ornamental fishes clearly visible at the bottom of the pond. The water in this park is very clear and cool. The water in Tirta Gangga Park by the surrounding community is considered as holy water. It used in religious ceremonies by residents in the area around Tirta Gangga Park.
