Bali Car Rental: 10-Seater Van for Large Groups

Bali Car Rental: 10-Seater Van for Large Groups

Some groups outgrow a 7-seater the moment the second grandparent or the third set of suitcases turns up. If that sounds like your trip, a 10-seater van keeps everyone in one vehicle, on one timetable, with the bags riding along too.

We’re Made Jaya Bali Rent Cars, a locally owned company based in Canggu, and we run Cars 4 Rent Bali. We rent out vehicles from small city cars to larger family vehicles, with or without a driver. For a group this size, we’d suggest the driver option, and we explain why below.

When a 10-Seater Van Is the Right Choice in Bali

A 10-seater makes sense when your group is too big for a 7-seater, or when you’re already splitting across two or three ride-hailing cars. It’s the practical answer for big family car rental in Bali, and it’s what most people mean when they search for Bali 10 seater car hire.

The split-up approach costs more than money. Cars leave at different times, drivers wait at different gates, and someone always ends up with the bags. Why one rental beats several ride-hailing cars comes down to that: one pickup, one drop-off, one person to message when plans change.

Here’s how the two vehicle sizes compare. A 10-seater is a larger van, so think of it as the next step up from any bali minivan rental you may have seen for smaller families.

The exact seat layout and boot space depend on the van we assign, so we confirm both in your quote.

A 10-seater isn’t the right fit for a couple or a family of four. A smaller car is cheaper and easier to park, and it handles tight streets better.

Seating Capacity and Luggage Space in a 10-Seater Van

Ten seats on a listing doesn’t mean ten passengers. The number you can actually count on depends on who’s driving and what the group carries, and both are worth settling before you book.

How the Seat Count Works With a Driver

In a 10-seater, the seat count often includes the driver’s seat. With a driver on board, a group can usually plan on nine passengers, and that’s the number to use when you count heads.

Count everyone, including babies and toddlers. Child seats take up real space, and a rear-facing seat can cost you more than one seat’s worth of legroom around it. If you’re travelling with infants, our guide to family trips with young children covers the baby-seat options.

Tell us how many of your group are children and how old they are. We’ll check that the seating plan works before we quote.

Luggage Room When Every Seat Is Full

Luggage is the limit people underestimate most. The boot of a van isn’t a separate room, because as the rows fill with passengers, the space behind them for bags shrinks.

A group of nine with carry-on bags is one thing. A group of nine with hard suitcases, a surfboard bag and a golf set is quite another. Hard cases don’t squash, and long items can take up an entire row.

So send us a bag list along with your headcount. Include:

  • Hard suitcases (and roughly how large)
  • Soft bags and backpacks
  • Surfboards, golf bags or dive bags
  • Anything else bulky, such as a pram or a cool box

We confirm both the headcount and the bag list in writing in your quote, so nothing surprises you on arrival day. This won’t make ten adults with ten large suitcases fit in one van. If your load is that heavy, we’ll tell you straight and suggest a sensible split.

Not sure your bags will fit? Send us the list on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you honestly, no obligation.

Group Van Rental in Bali With a Driver

Most groups ask us for group van rental in Bali with a driver, and we’re happy to recommend it. A full van is the worst place to work out unfamiliar roads, so having a local at the wheel takes a big worry off the table.

What the Driver Option Covers for a Group

Your driver is a local who drives the van and knows the island’s roads. Before the trip, you tell us roughly where you want to go, and we agree the plan with you in writing.

That plan covers:

  • Routes: the places you want to visit each day, and the order that makes sense.
  • Stops: photo breaks, meals, toilet stops and shopping, which you can add or drop on the day within the agreed hours.
  • Hours: when the driver starts and finishes each day, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

The quote spells out what’s included, so you can compare it fairly with any other. For the typical pricing layout, see our driver-included rental pricing guide.

Picture an extended family landing at the airport with several large suitcases. They head to a villa, then spend several days on day trips. One van with a driver keeps everyone and the bags together, and the group follows a single timetable instead of coordinating separate cars.

Why a Driver Usually Suits a Group This Size

When the van is full, nobody wants to be the person navigating unfamiliar roads, watching the satnav and managing the group’s mood at the same time. With a driver, everyone gets to look out of the window, and that includes the person who’d otherwise be stuck behind the wheel all holiday.

A driver also handles the things that slow groups down: where to park near a busy temple, which route avoids the worst of the afternoon traffic, and where to drop everyone before the van goes looking for a space.

A driver may not suit every group. If your group wants to set off on an impulse with no agreed hours, a fixed driver schedule will feel restrictive. We cover the trade-offs in driver or self-drive for your group.

Want a driver on your trip? Tell us your group size, luggage and dates on WhatsApp, and we’ll put together a hassle-free quote.

Group Booking Rates and What Shapes Your Quote

We don’t publish a fixed price for van rental in Bali for large groups, because every group’s trip is different. We quote per request, so you pay for the trip you’re actually taking and not an average.

Four things move the price:

  1. Rental length: a single transfer, a few days or a longer stay.
  2. Route: short hops around Canggu cost differently from long days to the north or east of the island.
  3. Pickup point: the airport, a hotel or a villa, and how easy it is to reach.
  4. Driver inclusion: whether a driver comes with the van and for what hours.

When you compare our quote with anyone else’s, check that you’re comparing like with like. Fuel, driver hours and insurance can be bundled differently, and what an all-inclusive package covers shows what to look for line by line.

Daily, Weekly and Monthly Group Rates

We offer daily, weekly and monthly rentals, and you pick the one that matches your trip. A daily rental suits a single transfer or a day tour. A weekly one fits a villa stay with several outings, and a monthly rental is for longer stays or business groups with a regular schedule.

Tell us the full length of your stay and we’ll quote it as one booking. You don’t need to work out the maths yourself.

Routes, Pickups and Timing for Large Groups

A van group has a few planning decisions that a couple in a small car never faces. Each one affects your booking, so it’s better to settle them now.

Airport transfers with heavy bags. After a long flight, the last thing you want is a bag shuffle in the car park. Tell us your flight number and how many bags you’re bringing, so we send a van with the room you need.

Hotel and villa pickups. Canggu’s village lanes are narrow and busy, so a van’s pickup point often matters as much as its size. Choose a meeting spot on a main road, and your group can walk the last stretch to the villa while the van waits where it won’t block anyone.

Narrow village lanes. A van is harder to manoeuvre in tight lanes than a small car. If your villa sits at the end of a narrow road, say so when you book, and we’ll plan the pickup around it.

A full-day timetable. Traffic in Bali is slow at the best of times, and a big group moves slower still. Build in buffer time between stops, and you’ll arrive relaxed and not rushed. If you’re not sure how many stops fit in a day, ask us, because we’d rather you plan a realistic day than a packed one.

A 10-seater won’t get you through traffic faster. It gets everyone there together.

Insurance and Road Assistance on Group Van Rentals

Our rentals come with insurance and 24-hour road assistance. If your group runs into trouble on a long day, there’s a team to call at any hour, so you’re not left standing at the roadside with a van full of tired people.

That peace of mind matters more with a big group. A breakdown affects ten people, not two, and it helps to know the number to ring before you leave the villa. For the full detail on cover, see what our insurance covers, and read it before you book so you know your position if plans go wrong.

Request a No-Obligation Quote on WhatsApp

Reservations run over WhatsApp, and they start with a no-obligation quote. That lets everyone in your group check headcount, dates and driver needs before anyone commits.

Last-minute requests are welcome too. If you’re landing tomorrow, or you’ve just realised a 7-seater won’t cut it, message us and we’ll tell you what’s available.

What to Send With Your Group Request

The more you tell us up front, the faster and more accurate your quote. Send us:

  • Group size, including children: and their ages if you need child seats.
  • Bag count: hard suitcases, soft bags, and any surfboards, golf or dive bags.
  • Dates: pickup, drop-off and the total length of your stay.
  • Pickup point: airport, hotel or villa, with the nearest main road if you know it.
  • Driver needs: whether you want a driver, and for which days or hours.

If your plans change after you book, what to expect from our cancellation policy explains how we handle it.

Send your group request on WhatsApp today. Tell us how many of you are travelling, what you’re carrying and when, and we’ll come back with a clear, hassle-free quote.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 10-seater count include the driver?

Often, yes. The ten seats usually include the driver’s seat, so most groups can plan on nine passengers when a driver is on board. Child seats take extra room, so tell us how many children are travelling and we’ll confirm the seating plan in your quote.

Can we bring surfboards or golf bags in a 10-seater van?

Possibly, but long items take up space that passengers would otherwise use, and boot room shrinks as seats fill. Send us a list of your bags, including any boards, golf bags or dive bags, with your headcount. We’ll confirm what fits before you book.

How much does a group van rental cost?

We quote per request, so we don’t list a fixed rate. The price depends on rental length, your route, the pickup point and whether you want a driver. Send us your details on WhatsApp and we’ll reply with a no-obligation quote.

Can we book a van at the last minute?

Yes, last-minute requests are welcome. Message us on WhatsApp with your group size, bag count, dates and pickup point, and we’ll tell you what’s available. The sooner you send the details, the sooner we can confirm.
